BOAC, Marinduque (PIA) -- A total of 32 persons deprived with liberty participated in the orientation of the TUPAD program (Tulong Panghanapbuhay para sa mga Displaced/Disadvantaged Workers) spearheaded by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in partnership with the provincial government through Livelihood Manpower Development and Public Employment Service Office (LMD-PESO).
The primary objective of this program is to provide emergency employment opportunities for both former and current PDL’s at the provincial jail which will be engaged in planting vegetables and refurbishing facilities at the institution.
Present in the orientation were DOLE-Marinduque Provincial Director Philip Alano, Provincial PESO Manager Alma Timtiman and Provincial Warden Engr. Ronaldo Togonon.
Among the beneficiaries 15 former PDLs are set to work for 15 days while 17 current PDLs would be employed for 10 days under the strict supervision of the provincial jail.
Timtiman expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the agencies in collaboration with the Office of the Congressman Lord Allan Velaso for their unwavering support and overflowing assistance for the citizens.
